All gardening tools are provided, as is information for those new to gardening. The FOCG has 121 garden plots and close to 100 families as members. Members pay an annual fee ($20, $30 or $40) depending on the size of their garden plot. The FOCG has recently expanded creating more plots, including 5 raised beds, and adding space to grow food for the community kitchen.

General Considerations
-
No dogs or other domestic animals are allowed in the community garden.
-
Closely supervise your children. Community gardening can be a wonderful learning experience for children, but they must be respectful of other gardeners and their plots.
-
No smoking allowed in the garden.
-
Please dispose of your litter in the garbage cans provided.
-
Growing of Cannabis and Potatoes is not allowed.
-
Invasive species (such as Raspberry, Lamb’s Quarters) are not allowed. Invasive herbs or perennials (such as Mint, Oregano) should be contained in pots
-
Sunflowers may not be grown in individual plots as they can shade nearby plots.
-
Please be considerate and conservation minded when watering.
-
No smoking.
-
Tools must be cleaned and returned to the shed after using.
-
Keep the shed door closed.
-
Garden gate must be kept closed at all times and gate locked when you leave the garden. (Please check to make sure no one else is in the garden.)
-
If you use stakes and cages in your plot, please remove them at the end of the season; as a general rule, take out what you bring in.
-
The garden is open from dawn to dusk.
Garden Etiquette
-
You should have prepared and started planting your garden by June 1. If nothing has been planted by that date you will be contacted and may be asked to forfeit your gardening fee and plot.
-
Gardens must be maintained and managed without the use of any synthetic fertilizers and pesticides; these are prohibited.
-
Be vigilant about weeds; remove weeds from your plot, the perimeter of your plot and surrounding paths. Weeds can easily spread to the plots of other gardeners.
-
Advise the Garden Coordinator if you are not able to tend your garden due to illness or travel; it is your responsibility to find someone to water, weed and harvest as needed.
-
If a plot appears unattended (overgrown weeds, unharvested) you will be contacted. It is imperative that we keep weed seeds to a minimum and the gardens looking cared for.
