Join the Garden
Plots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The plot fee is $20 - $30 per season, plots can be renewed each year, and gardeners are expected to contribute 5-6 hours over the summer to help maintain the garden. Some plots are available at no charge for people who are low income.

For this 2025 gardening season all the available garden plots have been assigned. This year the FOCG received the most requests in any year to join our garden community than it has ever received. The FOCG now has over 100 families gardening this year.
Anyone interested in applying for a garden plot for the 2025 gardening season can send the FOCG an email (focgarden@gmail.com) requesting that their name be placed on our wait list. Vacant plots are assigned on a 'first on the list, first assigned' basis.
Join Our Volunteer Program
Members of the Fredericton Organic Community Garden are required to contribute to the garden by volunteering for a minimum of 5 hours per season. There are a number of opportunities for gardeners to do so either through organized group work details or commitment to individual tasks. Some examples of volunteer opportunities include helping with the food bank garden, maintaining the compost, shed maintenance, and general work days to name a few. If you have any questions regarding the work involved in a particular detail, please do not hesitate to contact the Garden Coordinator by emailing FOCGarden@gmail.com

Assignment of Plots
Gardeners in good standing (those who have fulfilled the requirements of their membership) will receive the same plot in the subsequent garden season. Requests to change plots or be assigned a larger plot can be sent to the Garden Coordinator.

Larger plots will be assigned based on length of FOCG membership and regular and ongoing contribution to garden upkeep.

Unassigned plots will be allocated to people on the garden waitlist. The waitlist and plot allocation will be established on a first come first serve basis. The FOCG generally assigns one plot per family. If the wait list is exhausted, members can request an additional plot.
